Job Summary

Kforce is seeking a Manager Application Engineering in Jacksonville, FL. This role involves leading a high-performing team, delivering customer-first solutions, and serving as a subject matter expert for mortgage technology systems. Responsibilities include guiding system architecture, troubleshooting issues, collaborating on solutions, and ensuring timely reporting. The manager will also oversee testing, drive continuous improvement, and support new software releases and API integrations within the LOS platform.

Must Have

  • Deliver a customer-first approach and provide strong leadership support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on business processes, system configuration, and support strategies
  • Guide system architecture decisions and clearly present multiple options for resolving complex issues
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within mortgage technology systems and related third-party vendor software
  • Collaborate across applications and functional teams to analyze requirements, identify solutions, and implement changes
  • Ensure timely reporting of bugs, outages, support inquiries, and enhancement requests to mortgage technology vendors
  • Oversee testing, UAT, and production environments, managing changes and supporting frequent migrations
  • Coordinate cross-team testing efforts to confirm solutions meet business needs
  • Drive continuous improvement by establishing and adhering to standards, best practices, and policies
  • Stay current on application releases, functionality, and related components
  • Support implementation of new software releases, including impact analysis, regression testing, scheduling, and change management
  • Develop a strong understanding of business data and collaborate with data stakeholders
  • Support internally developed API integrations and third-party integrations with the LOS platform
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience administering Encompass LOS
  • At least 3 years of experience managing and leading a high-performing team of application engineers
  • Strong understanding of the mortgage loan origination lifecycle

  • Experience with Encompass TPO Portal
  • Familiarity with the Encompass Next Generation platform
  • Encompass Administrator Certification (ICE)

  • Deliver a customer-first approach and provide strong leadership support to internal and external stakeholders through innovative, creative solutions
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on business processes, system configuration, and support strategies for assigned projects
  • Guide system architecture decisions and clearly present multiple options for resolving complex issues and requests
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with team members and business stakeholders
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within mortgage technology systems and related third-party vendor software for end-users and technology teams
  • Collaborate across applications and functional teams to analyze requirements, identify solutions, and implement changes effectively
  • Ensure timely reporting of bugs, outages, support inquiries, and enhancement requests to mortgage technology vendors, and communicate progress updates to end-users
  • Oversee testing, UAT, and production environments, managing changes and supporting frequent migrations to production
  • Coordinate cross-team testing efforts to confirm solutions meet business needs
  • Drive continuous improvement by establishing and adhering to standards, best practices, and policies
  • Stay current on application releases, functionality, and related components; assist with application management tasks as needed
  • Support implementation of new software releases, including impact analysis, regression testing, scheduling, and change management across all environments (production, test, training, development)
  • Develop a strong understanding of business data and collaborate with data stakeholders across business and technology teams
  • Support internally developed API integrations and third-party integrations with the LOS platform

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience administering Encompass LOS
  • At least 3 years of experience managing and leading a high-performing team of application engineers
  • Strong understanding of the mortgage loan origination lifecycle, including origination, processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, secondary marketing, investor delivery, and servicing
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Experience with Encompass TPO Portal is a plus
  • Familiarity with the Encompass Next Generation platform preferred
  • Encompass Administrator Certification (ICE) is highly desirable

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
